Testing and tagging
is the process of
inspecting, testing, tagging and recording of
electrical equipment to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 3760:2003 In
Service Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
Tests include the following
Earth bond continuity tests
-
Makes sure the appliance is earthed so that if there is a fault it
will ground the electricity so that you won't be electrocuted.
Insulation resistance test
- Tests the resistance between the active and neutral and any
exposed metal parts on the appliance to check if the outside casing
is live.
Power up test
-
This test shows the current being lost though leakage as the
difference in the currents flowing in the live and neutral
conductors while the appliance is powered and running
Visual inspection
- Checks
for visual faults such as damaged casing, exposed wires, loose
cords, and loose pins.
